I’m about to embark on a journey to see the world. However, before I go, I believe it’s vital that I first see my “backyard”. I’ve dreamed of a cross train trip for years, and my train departs tomorrow!
From Norfolk, VA it will take me up to D.C.
From DC, I board the Capitol Limited.
I’ll journey through the Potomac Valley, past historic Harpers Ferry and the Allegheny Mountains through Pittsburgh and Cleveland, arriving into the center of Chicago.
From Chicago I get on the California Zephyr.
I’ve heard great things about it! It’s gonna be magical! After coursing through amber waves of grains in Nebraska, we climb the purple mountain majesties of The Rockies, into denver, then further west through the snow-crowned mountains of Sierra Nevadas. -hehe see what I did there?- The train ultimately deposits us into the San Francisco Bay. Ahhh! I can’t wait to sit there and watch the tide roll way, while I play my guitar.
